Review and Preview 2021/2022

2021 is (almost) dead – long live 2022! I have a great feeling about the upcoming year, although many state that it can’t possibly get better than the closing one. In any case it’s time again for the inevitable review/preview dance.

2021 – What’s the damage?

  • Four new parts of Pony Boot Camp

I received quite a positive feedback on pushing the escape story arc in PBC. Totally unexpected with my writing style, the word count went through the roof again, therefore Seventeen’s search for greener pastures is definitively something to be carried over into the next year. As for isolated stories, we are looking at: Continue reading

Review and Preview 2020/2021

It may be a tad early for my annual R&P, but I like to get it out of the way before everybody else starts their own laments – and laments will come!

There’s no nice way to say it. The clusterfuck of our Lord 2020 had been a low-blow chapter-wise:

  • Only two new parts of Pony Boot Camp (sorry for that!), and Chapter VI of Æquinoctium (not sorry for that!)

Looking at the numbers for complete stories, we find ourselves with: Continue reading

Review and Preview 2019/2020

Greetings, fellow survivors of 2019!

With Twenty-twenty upon us, things again are bound to get a bit nostalgic. And so, as always, let us have a look at almost-last year’s loot:

  • Four new parts of Pony Boot Camp

Not an impressively high number as such, but I’m content as this quartette not only closed the Gymkhana story arc, but also opened a worthy follow-up. Continue reading

Review and Preview 2018/2019

Anybody else happy that 2018 is almost over?

It presented itself somewhat troublesome, and it shows in my story output — two additional parts for Pony Boot Camp, one (!) for Æquinoctium, and two stand-alone stories.

I am saddened that I didn’t come up with anything for Christmas (especially anything with ponies). My writing has been delayed and derailed to much higher degrees than I had experienced in the past. It is this that keeps me away from making any far-reaching prophecies. Continue reading

Review and Preview 2017/2018

So, it’s that time of the year again. 2017 is almost dead, but let’s flog it some more with a little review.

First of all – of course – Pony Boot Camp: It took quite some time and chapters, but the “no good deed goes unpunished” story arc is completed and has positioned the characters neatly for the next phase within the narration as a whole.

It seemed that Æquinoctium had also come to stay. Originally planned as a one-part story, even a third instalment won’t be enough to finish it now. Continue reading

Am I seeing double, or is it just me?

On several occasions I have wondered how unique or generic my literary ideas were, and today it is time for it again. A couple of weeks ago I finished reading a book which sported several scenes resembling those descript in a story of mine (all in the same chapter, actually). To make this absolutely clear right from the start: I do not believe that the author has read my story and taken notes. And even if, it would not be plagiarism in any way, nor would I be pissed off – quite to the contrary. I would be intrigued by the rather absurd idea that somebody drew inspiration from my writing. However, since this is in all likeliness not the case, I am left in awe of the uncanny resemblance of scenes written separately by two different authors. Continue reading

Review and Preview 2016/2017

Hello everybody,

2017 is neigh, and with it 365 days to write some more smut. With my predictions in last year’s review having basically been hit or miss, I’m eager to give it another try.

But first, let us tick some boxes regarding the exciting stuff I have announced for 2016 twelve months ago: Continue reading

2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 50,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 19 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Review and Preview 2015/2016

Hi guys,

seems we have December again, the time for starting the winter (or summer, depending on where you live), forgetting to buy Christmas gifts, and doing some “the year in review” boredom. I, too, would like to participate in this heart-warming tradition. But since we shall look forwards and not backwards, upwards and not forwards, I decided to make it short. There are only just a few words I would like to say about the stuff I have written in 2015 anyway. Continue reading

2014 In Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 75,000 times in 2014. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it.
